About Us | Print |  E-mail

TBICO was founded in 1993 to address the need for employment-related education, training, and services that would properly prepare people for the workforce, assist them in securing good jobs, teach them to be more effective money managers, and encourage them to pursue lifelong learning as a vehicle for career advancement. Simply put, the purpose of TBICO is to help people help themselves.

Because our employment programs are best suited to women, TBICO has become a well-known resource center for women who want or need to improve their skills but may not have the resources, or sometimes the confidence, to pursue their goals and aspirations.

In recent years, many of the women we serve never expected to find themselves needing help to become self-sufficient. Some have been downsized after years of working jobs where they had little or no opportunity to learn new or higher level skills.  Many more are displaced homemakers, women forced to become the family breadwinner as a result of divorce, domestic violence, or perhaps the death or disability of a spouse.

There are many reasons a woman might contact TBICO ranging from having been dealt a devastating change in her life's circumstances to simply wanting to improve her skills and increase her confidence.

All TBICO programs and services are employment-focused and cost-free. Training and services can be customized to suit each participant's interests, goals, and abilities. The goal of our training is to assist participants in obtaiing meaningful, gainful employment and then supporting their on-going success and upward mobility.
